The growth in warehousing and related areas, coupled with increased demand created by e-commerce, has resulted in a shift in travel patterns in the Monmouth and Mercer County region.
Monmouth County is undertaking this study to build a better understanding of travel needs in Upper Freehold, Allentown and Robbinsville. The study will include examining origin and destination information, traffic data, historic resources and physical conditions. The data will be used to develop short- and long-term strategies to manage travel and avoid conflicts where possible.
The study approach includes looking at previous studies, existing infrastructure, crash history, incident and emergency management plans, planned developments, travel patterns, and impacts to the people in the study area.Data collected will be reviewed, mapped, and used to quantify the need, and perform an environmental justice evaluation that will lead to recommendations for short- and long-term improvement concepts that:

The study is scheduled to be completed mid-2019.How can the public provide input?
Public input will be solicited in order to identify improvements to truck routes, wayfinding, and minimizing impacts on local communities. The first public meeting is scheduled for October 2, to present attendees with information about the project, answer questions and gather public input. Two additional public meetings are planned for January and April 2019.When will the study results be available?
